Since its founding in 1998, the American Society of Workers Comp Professionals, Inc (AMCOMP) has dedicated itself to the development of higher educational standards and the creation of a workers compensation education program.
Data collected from industry professional concludes that a common body of knowledge and a measurement system would benefit every participant in the system: insurers, insureds, reinsurers, self-insureds, regulators, agents, brokers and most importantly claimants. In the summer of 1999, AMCOMP began to flesh out a comprehensive education program that would help to achieve the educational goals the Association set forth.

Executive Vice President, Insurance Services Office, Inc. |
Early in 2001, AMCOMP recognized that there
are industry professionals who have gained
extensive knowledge through life experience.
These individuals have shown a commitment to
the workers compensation system by contributions
of time and effort and by fostering the efficiency
of the system outside of their workplaces.
These individuals have headed committees and
work groups and have contributed to the development
of some aspects of the workers compensation
environment. They have exhibited
strong qualifications in three main areas: experience,
leadership and commitment and have
made a unique contribution to the field.
Consequently, the designation of The Don DeCarlo “Legends” Award was established
to recognize these individuals as Honorary WCP’s for their life-long, outstanding
achievements in the field of workers compensation.
Each year at AMCOMP’s Annual Meeting & Conference, this distinguished award
is presented to recipients who exemplify the highest standards of practice, commitment
and achievement in the workers compensation industry. |
